Ruth Almén, LCSW

Ruth Almén is a graduate of Wittenberg University and Temple University, with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Nevada. With over 30 years of experience in the social work field working with individuals and families, her passion is program innovation and community collaboration. She has previously instigated and implemented community collaborative programs for at risk youth and families, an exercise and education program for people living with Early Stage Alzheimer’s and their care partners, and two exercise programs for people with Parkinson’s. While at Lou Ruvo she helped establish a Yoga program for people with M.S. and Improv for Care, a program created in collaboration with The Second City and Caring Across Generations, which was recently published showing it’s positive impact on caregivers well being. She also is a founding board member of Parkinson’s Place Las Vegas.
