Dr. Carriere earned her PhD in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University and completed her predoctoral internship at Vanderbilt University/VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System and postdoctoral fellowship in health psychology specializing in multiple sclerosis and other chronic health conditions at Cleveland Clinic. Through individual and group-based psychotherapy, her clinical work focuses on the intersection of cognitive, mood, and interpersonal changes in aging adults. In her role as the Angie Ruvo Endowed Chair for Caregiving, Dr. Carriere is responsible for clinical programming and research to improve the health and well-being of dementia caregivers. She is also passionate about women’s health, stress management, and the promotion of healthy aging.
